After a mixed reception at launch, Empire of Sin developer Romero Games is aiming to rejuvenate the prohibition-era strategy title with a new expansion pack: Make It Count. This paid add-on will allow you to take control of Meyer Lansky, the “Mob’s Accountant” who excels at economics and smooth talking. The DLC will also add a new faction known as ‘The Fixers’ to the game and their loan sharking rackets.
“After all the work we put into patching the game in the past few months, we’re ready to explore new aspects of the game to give players more content to sink their teeth into,” beamed co-founder Brenda Romero. “Make It Count, alongside the free Precinct update, brings new ways for players to play, manage and win as they build up their own Empire of Sin!”
For those who haven’t been following this title since its launch, the abovementioned Precinct update is promising some pretty hefty new features as well: “[This free update] introduces a Precinct management layer across neighborhoods, adds a new win-mechanic, and introduces mod support with mods available to play at launch.” It all sounds like meaty and meaningful stuff: will you be getting your suit dry cleaned in preparation?

Probably the least interesting announcement from PDXCON but unfortunately one of the few that affects Playstation. Vicky 3 and the CK3 DLC were definitely more exciting announcements.
Say, did they ever fix this game? I heard it was an interesting mesh of ideas with some XCOM style of gameplay, but they almost tried to mix too many things together, and had a hard time having the whole thing coalesce.
As John Romero's B**ch, I've sort of wanted to try this, but I'm waiting for an even bigger price drop than the current sale offering.
I was pretty excited for this originally, but then bad reviews came out and I lost interest. I like the idea and setting, but I prefer more of a Tactics/Fire Emblem style of strategy and less XCOM.
I'll count the money I'll save by NOT buying this.
Considering initial reception, they probably shouldn’t charge for this expansion and hope instead it makes the game better.
@LordSteev I have been playing on gamepass and while it still needs more polish I do like it so far. I’ve taken over two territories. My only issue is I think I broke a storyline quest, but the rest of the game still works so I have not been inclined to restart.
It is a very dense game though. Lots of systems to maintain. But if sims and tactics are your thing, you will find this enjoyable. I’m looking forward to the new content (and a price drop on Switch so I can pick it up).
If you have a gamepass system and a sub I recommend you try it there.
@Ryu_Niiyama Thanks much for the reply! Unfortunately, I don't have game pass yet. I'll be getting it as soon as I can find a new XBox at a retail store. I love tactics, and enjoyed both XCOM games immensely. Once it hits the $19.95 price range, I'm in.
